Located in the Fulton Arts District of the West Loop in Chicago, Ugly Step Sister was founded in October of 2008, by a local girl who desired the idea of opening an art gallery providing a much more approachable experience, allowing people of various art experiences to enjoy the viewing and purchase of original pieces from artists either around the corner, or around the world. We offer a unique blend of art, from classic oil on canvas to pieces with more of a contemporary flare.
Since relocating in April of 2011, to what is now the 3rd move of the gallery, the space has downsized greatly making it not as easy to hold fundraisers, art receptions, or classes like it used to. Maximum capacity is 40 people with limited wall space due to windows and exposed brick. Because of our love for art, photography, and our inner-city neighborhoods which hold such character, we're featuring a monthly story on either a business, artist, or a unique space that catches the eye.
